This newly renovated cottage is your perfect hideaway, offering the magical blend of modern comfort and serene seclusion. Whether needing a quick weekend getaway to recharge or a longer stay and river therapy the RH will be your new favorite escape :)
Nestled on a tree-lined gravel road that winds along the Cape Fear River, the home offers ample space and privacy from neighbors, creating the ultimate peaceful setting for relaxing and entertaining.
Inside, the fully stocked kitchen invites you to cook up anything from a casual breakfast to a gourmet dinner. Enjoy an early morning coffee on the all-seasons covered front porch or a casual picnic dinner under the cafe lights. Golden hour on the riverfront dock is the place to be with your cocktails…wave to the evening boaters drifting by as the sun sets.
The under porch patio is a perfect oasis year round. A shady retreat and place to chill in summer. Play ping pong or corn hole as you wait for the grill to heat up. While cozy and enticing in cooler months gathered around the wood-burning firepit.
The private dock is just a few steps away—perfect for sunbathing, fishing, dipping your toes or mooring your boat and water toys.
The renovated interior offers a spacious primary bedroom with a king-sized bed and en-suite bath, a queen bedroom, and a quad twin bunk room (perfect for groups or families). Two full bathrooms ensure everyone has space to refresh, while the covered front and ground-floor patios give you all the space you need to relax and entertain.
The Shelter Creek Boat Ramp 15 minutes away with river access directly to the property.
Only 25 minutes to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach and 35 minutes to Carolina Beach…However, we are fairly confident you will not want to leave the River House at all after being enticed by this calming and charming property :)

Guests will have full access to all spaces and private dock at the property
Stairs are needed to access the cottage
Parking for up to 4 vehicles and boat trailer
Closest grocery store is 10 minutes from the property
Pets are allowed upon approval with pet fee. We ask that you please bring pup blankets to use on furniture for pets. A concierge fee of $35 will be charged for any items left behind that need to be mailed.

Had a blast at Mary’s place! I highly recommend if you really want to relax, be near the water and get away from the noise! They also allow you to bring your furry friends 🐾 which I truly appreciate.

To simply say that our stay at the river house was nice does not give enough credit. The house was pristine inside and Mary was so helpful providing information throughout our stay. I would absolutely stay here again and may book in the future when I have a boat to launch from the private dock. If you want peace and quiet for some family time, or if you simply just want to stay somewhere that you can enjoy the beauty nature has to offer, book the river house. I promise you won’t regret it.

Was absolutely wonderful. Was able to enjoy time with the family and peaceful area away from the tourist traffic like at the beach. Still close enough to go to the beaches and groceries store if needed. Made many wonderful memories while there

It was an overall very wonderful stay, very comfortable and the AC worked wonders on those really hot days. The dock provided a good space to fish from. We caught catfish and bluegill ☺️ We would stay again 🙂

Beautiful place, perfect for a weekend getaway with family. Perfect amount of space and the view from the dock was gorgeous, we enjoyed going out boating down the river then coming back in for a good grilled meal! Everything about the place was perfect, would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!!!
