Modern + spacious, this adorable cottage will steal your heart! Experience classic Carolina charm along with all of the updates and conveniences needed for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. Just 2 miles from the Riverwalk + 15 minutes to Wrightsville beach. Spend evenings around the fire pit in the 'Secret Garden' and rocking chair mornings on the front porch. Equipped for working remotely with a private office + centrally located for exploring, relaxing at the beach or just enjoying our city!
You will enjoy the inviting coastal vibe from the charming front porch to the private primary suite with claw foot bathtub. The home is fully stocked with everything you will need for a fun, relaxing getaway. The spacious kitchen is equipped for making an intimate dinner or large family meals. When not out experiencing some of our incredible dining spots enjoy in home cooking with stainless steel appliances, full sized Keurig and fully outfitted kitchen and spice cabinet.
We enact non-toxic cleaning practices and organic, custom scented reed diffusers (crafted by us!) for healthy, all-natural indoor environments for all of our guests.
Guests and larger groups will appreciate the private master bedroom, separated by an extended hallway, along with an full en-suite bathroom and vintage soaking tub and step in shower. 3 smart TVs will keep everyone entertained. Brand new, comfortable bedding will keep everyone well rested! Multiple, quaint outdoor spaces are a unique feature at the Blue Bungalow. 2 private patio areas and the classic rocking chair front porch are favorite hang out areas in all seasons.
You will have full access the home and parking areas while staying with us!
We live close by and are quickly available for questions or issues that arise during your stay. However, we desire this to be your home away from home during your visit. Your privacy and 5 star experience is our number one goal :)
Walk to Wallace park just several blocks away! This is a favorite gathering spot for locals…picnicking or just relaxing in the sun. There’s a playground, basketball courts and plenty of green space under the live oak trees. Walk for miles through the surrounding neighborhoods comprised of tree lined streets and quaint renovated bungalows. You are minutes from the Castle Street district with cafes, eclectic shops and the the new End of Days Distillery. Also several miles away is the Independence Mall area with all of your desired staples, including Starbucks, Whole Foods and Harris Teeter. Carolina Place community is buffered by Wilmington’s most loved historic district. Brookwood and Forest HIlls boast shaded Southern streets, beautiful antebellum homes and a diverse mix of restored cottages. Being in the heart of the city but still minutes to Downtown and Wrightsville Beach makes the Blue Bungalow a must stay property:))
10 minutes by bike to the downtown Riverfront. 15 minutes by car to Wrightsville Beach. Carolina Place is a lovely community in the heart of Wilmington’s historic district. You are centrally located with 10-20 minutes getting you to practically anywhere in the city. Along with easy access to both Wrightsville and Carolina Beaches!
The house is equipped with a Nest security and interior control system. You will have a personal door code for access during your stay and the digital controls inside for cooling and heating are quick and responsive for your personal comfort!
We also offer 2 bikes for your enjoyment. The lock codes will be provided at checkin.

Overall, we had a nice stay, but the listing was a bit misleading. The photos made the property and surrounding area look much nicer than they were in person. The beach chairs provided were worn and partially broken, the kitchen was very minimally stocked, and the charcoal grill was dirty and full of wet charcoal, making it unusable without cleaning it first. The bathrooms also could have been cleaner upon arrival. While we still enjoyed our stay, there were several details that didn’t match our expectations based on the listing.

Beautiful house with LOTS of space. Great for a family traveling to the area or 2-3 couples. Bathrooms are nice and good sized. Neighborhood is walkable with older homes. Not far from river and downtown happenings.

We had an absolutely amazing graduation weekend spent celebrating our daughter. The house was perfect for a small get together after. Kitchen has everything we could need. The home was spotless and had extra special touches throughout 🩷 Thank you for everything. I was worried when we had to move houses prior to our check in since the other property sold. But everything was amazing. Thank you for being great host. I appreciate everything

Nice location for quick trips into Wilmington. But the bungalow bathrooms, living area , exterior and bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. Human hair on bathroom walls and in tub, dog hair on floors. Insects, spiders and a cockroach in the living room really made this place a disappointment. That along with the uncomfortable furniture really would not give us a desire to return to this location.

Great little cottage/bungalow. I highly recommend it for a small group of friends or a family with kids. Well appointed, clean and very cozy.

Our family of four (four adults) had an amazing time and stay at Mary's Bungalow! The space was clean and very organized, the layout was perfect, and everyone had their own space. The home was just as described but seemed larger and more spacious! We loved having the beach chairs as well as the "nice" essentials that were provided for us. It's a definite must-stay! I'm sure we will be back!!!
