Welcome to your classic Carolina cottage! Fully renovated in 2024, expect a brand new, charming home with fresh furnishings and interior touches along with an intentionally preserved, beach cottage vibe. This first floor, 3 bedroom property still boasts her shiplap ceilings and laid back beach vibe, while also offering completely renovated and modernized living areas. The kitchen and bath are fully updated for everyone’s comfort and convenience. Not to be missed is the newly installed, whole house Kinetico water filtration system! No beach water here. We offer healthy, filtered dinking and bathing water.
We also enact non-toxic cleaning practices.
What we love most about The Latimer is the premiere location, 2 minute stroll to both Banks Channel Sound and the convenient ocean access. No stairs to climb with beach gear. Step right out and head to the water, shopping or dining… Plan to relax and enjoy the evenings or cool mornings on the shady private patio or take a post beach rinse in your enclosed outdoor, hot water shower.
When it’s time to head out and explore the island you are in the premiere spot! Walk to all of the local favorites. Trolly Stop hotdogs are not to be missed along with a margarita and fish taco from Tower7. Circles ice cream makes a summer night sweeter. Local surf shops, boutiques, nightlife and the island’s long standing, Robert’s Grocery store are within an easy walk from the cottage. If you desire to rent bikes, they can be delivered to your door ready to pedal your way along our 3 mile island from inlet to inlet.

*There is an apartment upstairs that may be occupied during your stay. The upper porch pictured belongs to second floor. Your private patio is located behind the house. The cottage can also be rented as a whole house, 6 bedroom per availability.
*Checkin is after 4pm or and Checkout is 10am unless otherwise agreed upon
Guests will have exclusive access to the 1st floor 3 bedroom apartment and private outdoor back patio
We are local hosts and quickly available for any issues or questions that may arise during your stay. However we respect your privacy and desire for you to feel that this is your home away from home while visiting :)
Please note there is no onsite parking at this property. We do offer 1 parking pass for free parking in authorized spaces nearby.
Latimer Lower is the white unit pictured below the blue upper and comprises the entire first floor of the cottage.
PLEASE remember to return parking pass before departure to avoid the $175 replacement fee

Great location and responsive host!

Awesome location!! We had an amazing girls weekend here. Walkable to the beach and plenty of restaurants and bars. The only con with the place was that it’s a lower unit with one unit above it. We had a family of 5 staying above us and they were very loud. The kids were running around early morning and we could hear everything. Mary was responsive to us and spoke to them for us, however, it is something to keep mind prior to booking.

The location is great and even though there isn't parking on the property, if you time it right (do not leave public parking space during the day) the parking is actually very convenient. Mary is a responsive host and gives helpful responses. There is bed space for up to six guests to stay comfortably, but be mindful of the one bathroom situation.

This was an adorable space for two adults and two kids. It was comfy and well appointed, and the location couldn’t be beat in terms of proximity to the beach, restaurants, and other fun locations. Though it was peak beach season, we didn’t really have issues finding parking. Mary was responsive and accessible. With a kid at UNCW, I am sure we will stay again!

This house was in the perfect location! It was walkable to some shops and restaurants in the center of Wrightsville Beach. Mary was a responsive host and helpful with parking questions! Would recommend!

Lovely little cottage directly by the ocean! Easy walk to the beach and near lots of shops and restaurants. Home was clean and was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Bedrooms were spacious enough for all of our things and there was beach equipment available as well. Would stay again!
